PJ LIBRARY - VICTORIA AND BEYOND (WA, NT, QLD, SA & TAS)

UJEB brining PJ library to Victoria and Beyond

PJ Library (PJ is short for Pyjama) gifts high-quality Jewish-themed children’s books to families raising children across VIC and Beyond. PJ Library books celebrate important aspects of Jewish culture, values and tradition, and quickly become cherished bedtime stories’.

UJEB will distribute PJ Library’s carefully selected books as part of its core educational content, providing an engaging and tangible way for children and families to connect with their Jewish heritage. “By making PJ Library a part of UJEB, we are bringing a world of Jewish stories and learning directly into the schools and homes of families across Australia,” said Itzik Sztokman, Executive Principal at UJEB. “These books are more than just stories; they are tools for education and engagement, reflecting our dedication to nurturing knowledgeable, proud members of the Jewish community.”

In addition to receiving the monthly gift of books, families are also invited to participate in a range of special PJ Library community events throughout the year.

With great excitement, I step into the role of PJ Library Director for Victoria and beyond!

My name is Hila Ben Gera, originally from Israel, now based in Melbourne with my husband, Timbo, our son Noam, and another little bub on the way. As a storyteller, educator, and theatre-maker, I’ve spent over a decade creating engaging, interactive experiences for children.

I’ve had the joy of collaborating with libraries, schools, and festivals in Australia, New York, and Israel, and I’m excited to bring this experience to PJ Library. We’re currently planning a range of exciting activities and a wonderful lineup of engaging events for young families in 2025.

I look forward to meeting and connecting with you all through the magic of Jewish books, culture, and community.

Reasons why you should sign up to

like 1,750 families around Australia who have already signed up!

PJ Library sends a monthly gift of curated, award-winning, high-quality Jewish books and activities to kids from birth until age 8.

No matter what Jewishness looks like in your family, strengthening your children’s connection to Jewish values, traditions, and celebrations can be as easy as adding PJ Library storybooks to your reading time.

Because there are so many ways to be Jewish, our program is designed to be welcoming, inclusive, and meaningful to families regardless of their Jewish experience or level of observance.

Books are posted directly to families’ homes so they can build their own Jewish children’s libraries.

And the best part? Thanks to the support of sponsors, subscribing families, and the Harold Grinspoon Foundation, PJ Library is completely free for families.
